Private Label Tarot Cards: Your Brand or Your Artwork
A logo swap on an existing Dark Forest design is free. A full box relayout is $50 below 60 decks of one design, and included at no charge from 60 decks up — the same line applies to a new card-back layout ($50) and a new booklet from your own text ($150). Either route, a first private-label order at the 12-deck minimum is $226.80 delivered to a US address.
This guide draws the exact line between "put your name on it" and "rebuild the packaging," in dollars and in deck counts, and separates the two routes a private label order actually takes.

What does it cost to put your own brand on a tarot deck?
| Service | Below 60 decks of one design | From 60 decks of one design |
|---|---|---|
| Ready files, minor logo, company-name or QR-code edit | Free | Free |
| New box layout | $50 | Included |
| New card-back layout | $50 | Included |
| New booklet layout from your supplied text | $150 | Included |
| 12-deck first order, delivered to a US address | $226.80 ($190.80 goods + $36.00 delivery), plus only the services you select above | |
You pay only for the services you actually select — a logo swap on an existing design does not trigger any of the three paid layouts. All figures are the published ladder and preparation fees; new illustration or extensive artwork reconstruction is a different job, agreed separately.
What does it cost to put your own brand on a tarot deck?
Private label starts from the same ladder as any print run: $15.90 a complete set at the 12-deck minimum, falling to $10.90 at 192, and a 12-deck order lands at $226.80 delivered to a US address — $190.80 of goods plus $36.00 of delivery. That figure does not change whether you are printing your own artwork or putting your brand on an existing design.
What can add to it is preparation, and only the parts you select. A logo, company name or QR-code swap on an existing design's ready files is free at any quantity. A genuinely new box layout, card-back or booklet costs $50, $50 and $150 respectively below 60 decks of one design, and all three are included at no charge from 60 decks up. Nobody in the printer set we have read publishes this line as an exact figure — quotes on rebrand or private-label conversion work are handled on request, so a shopper comparing options usually cannot see this number until they ask.
Can I create a private-label tarot deck under my own brand?
Yes, through either of two doors, and they ask different things of you. Your own artwork means you supply all 78 illustrations, the card back, the booklet text and the box art — Dark Forest prints exactly what you send, once you have approved the proof. Our design, your brand means you supply no illustrations at all: choose an eligible 78-card design from the existing catalogue, and put your own name, logo and packaging on it instead.
The second door is the private-label door in the strict sense of the term — a private label buyer sells someone else's product design under their own name, the way a supermarket own-brand does with a contract manufacturer's product. Existing Dark Forest artwork rights are not transferred to you; you are licensing the finished design for your packaging, not acquiring it.
Am I allowed to order and resell my own branded tarot deck?
Yes — there is no restriction on ordering a deck you intend to sell under your own brand, and no application or approval step stands in front of it. Trade pricing applies automatically from 12 decks through the normal checkout, whether the order is for your own artwork, an existing design with your branding, or ready stock. You keep ownership of any artwork you supply; production permission does not give Dark Forest permission to resell, license or publicly display it.
What you are buying, in the "our design, your brand" route, is the right to sell a Dark Forest design as your own product — not the underlying illustration rights, which stay with Dark Forest. If your plan is to sell the artwork itself, or license it onward to someone else, that is a different conversation from a private-label print run and worth raising before you order.
Two routes, one price ladder
| Route | You supply | Typical preparation cost |
|---|---|---|
| Your own artwork | 78 card fronts, shared back, booklet text and box art — a clean 156-page file plus booklet and box panels | Free if print-ready; $50 box layout below 60 decks if you need one built for you |
| Our design, your brand | Your logo, name and any packaging preference — no illustration | Free for a minor edit; $50–$150 per component below 60 decks for a full relayout |
Both routes land on the identical $15.90-at-12-to-$10.90-at-192 ladder, and both pay through checkout in full before production starts. The only thing that changes between them is who does the illustration — you, or the existing catalogue.

Choosing your first private-label order
If the plan is to test one branded design before committing further, the cheapest honest first step is a logo edit on an existing catalogue design at the 12-deck minimum: $226.80 delivered, no layout fee, ready in the standard 3–4 week production window after you approve the proof. If the brand needs its own box art and booklet from day one, budget the $50 and $150 layout fees into that same first order, or plan the order at 60 decks of one design and have all three included.
Either way, you pay through checkout first — no upload or proof approval is required before payment — and production only begins once you have approved the exact artwork by email. Start with an existing design and your brand, or bring your own artwork if you are illustrating the deck yourself.
