Which decks ship from stock

The following editions in the catalogue are marked available from existing stock only, and the original cards on them stay unchanged — they are finished goods, not a specification you can alter:

• Gold foil Moonlight — rainbow foil
• Gold Standard — Classic 1909 — rainbow foil
• Holographic Crystal Foil — Classic 1909 — holographic crystal foil
• Moon Magic — laminated paper

Every other design in the catalogue is available for new printing with your selected packaging. You can confirm the split yourself: every card in the deck catalogue states which of the two it is, in one line, under the finish.

One clarification, because we publish two different things under the word "stock." Our wholesale overview says finished decks are held in a US fulfilment warehouse — that counts decks sitting in the warehouse. The editions above are the designs the catalogue sells from stock only — a different measure. If the edition you want is not on that list, the catalogue is telling you it will be printed for your order, and the 15–20 business day window applies.

Which decks are made to order, and how long they take

Designs not held in stock are produced for your order. New production supports 12 to 192 decks in steps of 12, with up to 200 newly printed decks on a single online order.

The published planning estimate for Made to Order and custom printing is 3–4 weeks, 15–20 business days, covering production and delivery, counted from artwork approval — not from payment. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date; carrier service and destination move it, and any order-specific schedule is shown before you commit.

What we do not publish: a stock dispatch time

We publish a lead time for Made to Order and we do not publish one for ready stock. The terms say only that ready-stock decks do not require a new production run and may be dispatched separately from newly printed components. There is no published number of days for a stock dispatch, and rather than invent one, we say so: if a hard date matters to your launch, ask for it on the quote and it will be confirmed for your order specifically.

What follows logically is still useful: a stock edition skips the 15–20 business day production window entirely, which is the part of the timeline a deadline usually collides with.

How a mixed order works

You are not choosing one lane. A wholesale order can combine both, under three published rules:

• 12 decks minimum in total, combining in-stock and Made to Order decks.
• At least 5 decks of each in-stock edition you select. Eligible editions can be combined.
• One price ladder covers both: $15.90 a deck at 12, $14.90 at 24, $12.90 at 48, $11.90 at 96 and $10.90 at 192. The last completed quantity tier sets the unit price. Product prices confirmed 13 September 2026.

So the smallest mixed order is 12 decks — for example 5 of one stock edition, 5 of another, and 2 Made to Order — billed at $15.90 a deck. The stock part may be dispatched separately from the newly printed part, which means the shop gets sellable inventory on the shelf while the printed decks are still in production.

Why you cannot change a stock edition

Changes to Dark Forest cards, backs, packaging or booklets are agreed for a new production run; existing stock cards cannot be changed. If you want your own logo, a different box or a new card back on a design, that design has to be a Made to Order run — which puts it back on the 15–20 business day clock. A logo swap on an existing design is free; a full box relayout is $50 below 60 decks.

Choosing on a deadline

If the date is fixed — a market, a store opening, a seasonal window — a stock edition removes the production window from your timeline, and you can still add Made to Order designs to the same order to reach a better price tier. If the date is flexible and the range matters more, Made to Order opens every remaining design and lets you set the packaging.

Either way, the order starts in the same place: the full catalogue of all 24 designs, or straight to a quote with the editions and counts you want.
