The Classic 1909 Illustrations, Now with Gold Rainbow Foil
The Pamela Colman Smith Tarot Cards Gold Rainbow Foil is a full 78-card deck featuring the original Pamela Colman Smith illustrations from 1909, reimagined with reflective gold rainbow foil detailing. Every card is printed on premium thick cardstock, giving the deck a distinctive soft-textured feel that sets it apart from standard art cardstock decks. The borderless artwork fills the entire card face, no white borders interrupting the imagery.
Premium Thick Cardstock, Anti-Scratch Lamination
The cards are made from premium thick cardstock. Combined with anti-scratch lamination, the cards hold their shape without curling. Card size is 2.75" x 4.72", which fits any standard tarot bag, sleeve, or storage box.

Is this deck good for beginners?
Yes. The Pamela Colman Smith deck uses the Pamela Colman Smith system, which is the foundation for the majority of tarot books, courses, and apps available today. The borderless illustrations are rich with symbolic detail that supports intuitive reading from day one. The included 36-page printed guidebook covers all 78 cards with upright and reversed meanings.
What's the difference between this deck and a standard Pamela Colman Smith deck?
This version features gold rainbow foil detailing applied to the original 1909 Pamela Colman Smith illustrations, printed on premium thick cardstock with an anti-scratch finish. Standard editions typically use thinner cardstock and no foil. The borderless design is also specific to this edition, giving it a more immersive look than bordered reprints.
What exactly comes in my order?
All sets include the full 78-card deck, a 36-page printed guidebook, and a protective cardboard tuck box. Velvet bag, reading cloth, and wooden storage box are added depending on which bundle you choose. See the "What's Included" section above for a full breakdown by set.
Is the guidebook physical or digital?
Both. A 36-page physical guidebook ships inside the box with every order. After purchase, you also receive a link to an extended digital version with deeper content, spreads, and exercises. There is also a free expanded guide available on the site at any time, no purchase required.
Can you read the foil cards easily, or is there too much glare?
The foil finish looks best under soft, warm, or angled light. In bright overhead or direct sunlight, there can be some reflective glare on certain cards. Most readers find that warm lamp light or natural window light gives a good balance of visual impact and readability. This is worth knowing before buying, especially if you read in very bright spaces.
What material are the cards made from?
Premium thick cardstock has a subtle grain texture, similar to a fine cotton paper. It feels slightly softer underhand than glossy art cardstock. The weight means the cards are firm and hold their shape well. New cards may feel slightly stiff at first and will loosen up after a few shuffles.
Is this a good gift?
It is one of our most gifted items. The gold rainbow foil finish photographs well, the packaging looks premium without extra wrapping, and the Pamela Colman Smith tradition is recognized by tarot readers at every level. With 55 reviews at 4.96 stars specifically for this deck, customers regularly call it a "perfect gift."
How thick are the cards?
The cards are made from premium thick cardstock with an anti-scratch lamination, designed for regular reading and shuffling.

Wonderful prints, beautiful aesthetic. I LOVE the gold on black. Also well packaged, and my expectations were surpassed in general upon opening. Came at the absolute perfect time too!
These cards are gorgeous, so sturdy and the gold detailing is exactly what I wanted. They stick together a bit at first but it gets better the more you shuffle. Love them!
