Stock Tarot Decks for Your Online Store: Small Lots, No Big Bet
An online store can stock tarot decks without a warehouse deal: from 12 decks at $15.90 a complete 78-card deck, or $190.80 of goods, with the printed box included; the guidebook is an electronic PDF the buyer gets by personal link. Delivery is quoted separately by destination (12 decks to the US is $36.00). Prices are in US dollars, read live on 2 November 2026. Below: how to size the lot, when to reorder, and what “dropshipping” honestly means here.
The short answer: buy small, reorder on proof
| Decks in the order | Per 78-card deck | Goods total |
|---|---|---|
| 12 — the minimum | $15.90 | $190.80 |
| 24 | $14.90 | $357.60 |
| 48 | $12.90 | $619.20 |
| 96 | $11.90 | $1,142.40 |
| 192 | $10.90 | $2,092.80 |
An online seller faces a different risk from a shop. There is no shelf to fill, but there is a listing to rank, photograph and advertise, and a deck that does not sell costs you the stock plus the time. That is why twelve is a good size to begin with: $190.80 buys real stock of a design you have chosen, not a promise.
When a listing proves itself, the next lot moves up the ladder. Twenty-four decks is $357.60, which is $14.90 each, and forty-eight is $619.20 at $12.90 each. Insured delivery is added on top and depends on where you ship to.
Need 10, 20, 30 or 50 decks? Here is the price
Orders go in dozens (12, 24, 36, 48, 60 and so on) because our printer works in multiples of 12. Take the next dozen up: the price per deck is fixed before you order, and the totals below are the goods only, shipping extra.
| You need about | Order | Per deck | Goods total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 12 | $15.90 | $190.80 |
| 20 | 24 | $14.90 | $357.60 |
| 30 | 36 | $14.90 | $536.40 |
| 50 | 60 | $12.90 | $774.00 |
Need exactly 50? Order 48 ($619.20) and top up from retail, or 60 ($774.00) and keep spares. Delivery is quoted separately by destination.
How to size the first lot for a webshop or marketplace
Work backwards from what you can sell in the time it takes to reorder. A reorder from ready stock is quick, but a design made to order needs 3–4 weeks of production after artwork approval and then 5–9 business days of insured UPS transit. If you plan on a six-week cycle, your first lot should cover at least six weeks of expected sales plus a small buffer.
For most small stores that points to one of three starting points:
- 12 decks, one or two designs — testing a new listing or a new marketplace. Mix is allowed, with at least 5 of any single ready-stock edition.
- 24 decks — a listing that already has traffic, at $14.90 a deck.
- 48 decks — a proven seller or a bundle plan, at $12.90 a deck.
Whatever the size, buy in dozens. The checkout sells in multiples of twelve, so a store that needs about twenty orders 24, and one that needs about fifty orders 48 or 60. Round up to the next dozen and the price per deck drops, which is a feature of the ladder, not a nuisance.
What dropshipping means here, and what it does not
Many online sellers ask for dropshipping, so here is the plain version. You can buy decks at wholesale prices and have us ship them to you, and you then ship to your customers. That is wholesale with your own fulfilment. It is not an automatic arrangement in which each customer order on your store triggers a shipment from us to that customer.
We do not advertise a white-label dropship feed or an order API, and we are not promising one. If your model depends on direct-to-customer shipping, describe it in the quote request and we will tell you what is possible for your volume and destination. Delivery is always a separate quoted line, so you can see the real landed cost before you commit.
The practical consequence is that you hold a small stock. For tarot that is not a burden: a deck is flat, light and does not expire.
Margin and landed cost for online sellers
An online seller pays delivery twice, once from us to you and once from you to the customer, so work the numbers on landed cost. Take a 12-deck order to the US: $190.80 of goods plus $36.00 of delivery is $226.80, or $18.90 a deck. A shelf price of $34.99 would leave $16.09 a deck before marketplace fees, payment fees, packaging and outbound postage. We do not know your fees, so use your own platform's figures to finish the sum.
At 48 decks the goods are $12.90 a deck. The same $34.99 listing leaves $22.09 on goods before delivery, which gives you room to offer free shipping on one deck or a bundle price on two. The honest rule: price from the landed cost you actually paid, not from the ladder.
Packaging and photos your listing needs
Each deck comes in its own printed box, with no printed book inside: the guidebook is an electronic PDF that the buyer gets by link, so there is no extra packaging cost to add to the product itself. For shipping to your customers you will still want a mailer that protects the box corners, and many sellers add a thank-you card or a small bag.
On photos, three images do most of the work: the sealed box on a plain background, the box open with a handful of cards fanned out, and a scale shot with a hand or a candle so buyers understand that a standard tarot card is 70 x 120 mm. Take your own photos from stock; images from the supplier are not a substitute for showing the actual box you are selling. If you are listing on a marketplace, check its rules on brand names and product identifiers before you publish.
A simple reorder rhythm
The mistake new online sellers make is ordering by feel. A rhythm is better. Record the date of each lot, the day the first order from it shipped and the day you sold the last deck. After two lots you will know how many decks you sell in a week, and the reorder date is then arithmetic: sell-through rate multiplied by the lead time, plus a cushion.
For a made-to-order design, the lead time to plan around is 3–4 weeks of production plus 5–9 business days of transit, so a store selling six decks a week needs roughly 40 to 50 decks in the pipeline at the moment it places a reorder. For a seasonal peak, such as the run-up to the winter holidays, order earlier than the arithmetic suggests, because transit and the weeks of production do not shorten because you are busy.
Keep a note of returns and breakages as well. A boxed deck travels well, but a corner can be dented in the post, and knowing your real damage rate tells you whether to change the mailer rather than the supplier.
From stock to your own brand
Some online sellers find, after a few lots, that their audience wants something that is not in anyone else's catalogue. That is the point to look at a print run under your own name: from 12 decks, the same ladder, with artwork preparation free from 60 decks.
