Reselling wholesale decks
Selling Tarot Decks on Etsy and Amazon: Resale and Own-Brand Rules
You can buy wholesale decks from us at $15.90 each from 12 decks and sell them where you like, on Etsy, Amazon or your own site, at a price you set. What you cannot do is claim our designs as your own: no trademark or copyright claims on artwork you did not make. If you want a listing that is truly yours, print your own artwork under your brand instead. Terms are on the order terms page. Prices in US dollars, read live on 2 November 2026.
The short answer: resold decks and own-brand decks are different businesses
Two models get confused, and the difference decides what you may say in a listing.
| Resold decks | Own-brand decks | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | You buy our ready designs and resell them | You send your artwork and we print it for you |
| Who owns the design | Dark Forest | You (you must have the rights to what you send) |
| Minimum | 12 decks, from $15.90 | 12 decks, from $15.90, artwork preparation free from 60 |
| Listing says | That you are a reseller of the design | That the deck is yours |
| Where it fits | A shop adding a line quickly | A brand building its own catalogue |
Both are legitimate, and many sellers do both. The risk is blurring them: a resold deck listed as “my original design” is a misrepresentation, and a marketplace may remove the listing.
What you may do with decks you buy from us
You may sell the decks you have bought. There is no resale condition attached to the price, and you set your own retail price. In practice that means you can:
- List them in your own webshop, a physical shop or a market stall.
- List them on a marketplace such as Etsy or Amazon, within that marketplace's own rules.
- Photograph the decks you own and describe them accurately.
- Bundle them with your own products, such as a bag, a cloth or a guidebook.
Marketplaces have their own requirements on brands, categories and product identifiers, and these change. Read the current rules before you list, and ask us if a marketplace asks you for proof of supply.
What you may not do
These are the lines we ask you to respect.
- Do not claim the design as yours. No copyright or trademark notice, takedown request or “original artwork” wording on a deck you did not create.
- Do not register our deck names or designs as a trademark, a shop name or a marketplace brand.
- Do not use Rider-Waite wording in a product title or as the name of a deck. The tradition may be named in descriptive text; the name should not become a product title.
If you are unsure about anything else, ask before you list. The order terms are on /pages/b2b-terms, and a question to the quote form is answered within 24 hours on business days.
Own-brand decks for Etsy and Amazon
If the goal is a listing that nobody else can copy, the own-brand route is the stronger one. You send your artwork; we print the cards, box and a 48-page insert, and your name goes on the box. Prices follow the same ladder as ready decks, and a logo edit on private label is free.
| Decks | Per 78-card deck | Goods total |
|---|---|---|
| 12 | $15.90 | $190.80 |
| 24 | $14.90 | $357.60 |
| 48 | $12.90 | $619.20 |
| 96 | $11.90 | $1,142.40 |
| 192 | $10.90 | $2,092.80 |
You must own, or have the licence to, whatever artwork you send us. Artwork preparation ($50 box, $50 back, $150 insert layout) is free from 60 decks and does not apply if your files match our template. Production is 3–4 weeks after artwork approval, then 5–9 business days by insured UPS. Delivery is extra, and 12 decks to the US is $36.00.
A word on honesty in listings
Buyers on Etsy and Amazon read reviews and descriptions closely, and a listing that is straightforward about what it is tends to hold its reputation. If you resell, say so plainly: describe the deck, its contents and its size, and credit the maker if the marketplace allows it. If you print your own artwork, say that too, and tell the story of the artist behind it, because that is what the own-brand route gives you that a resold deck cannot.
Do not describe what a deck will do for the buyer in terms of guaranteed outcomes. A tarot deck is a tool for reflection and storytelling, and the marketplaces, as well as the buyers, react badly to promises. Keep the listing about the cards: the art, the stock and the box.
Finally, keep your records. Hold the date of each purchase, the quantity and the invoice, so that if a marketplace asks you where the stock came from, you can answer in a minute. The same records make your tax return easier, and they tell you which lot of which design performed best, which is the information you need to decide between buying another dozen of a resold deck and starting an own-brand run.
Margin and listing tips for marketplace sellers
Marketplaces take fees and you pay for postage, so work from landed cost. Twelve decks to the US cost $190.80 of goods plus $36.00 of delivery, which is $18.90 a deck. A listing at $34.99 leaves $16.09 before marketplace fees, payment fees and outbound shipping. At 48 decks the goods fall to $12.90, which leaves $22.09 before delivery on the same price. Use your own marketplace fee schedule to finish the sum; we do not guess it.
A few habits help a listing, whichever route you take:
- Say exactly what the buyer gets: 78 cards and a printed box (the guidebook is an electronic PDF that the buyer gets by link), in a standard 70 x 120 mm tarot size.
- Use your own photos of the actual stock, including the box, a fan of cards and one scale shot.
- Write the title the way a buyer searches, without borrowing a competitor's brand or a protected deck name.
- Start with 12 decks and let reviews, not hope, decide the second lot.
Common questions
- Can I resell your wholesale tarot decks on Etsy or Amazon?
Yes, within each marketplace's own rules. There is no resale condition on the price, and you set your own retail price. You may not claim the artwork as your own.
- Can I trademark a deck I bought from you?
No. Do not register the design or deck name as a trademark or brand, and do not file takedowns against the original.
- What if I want a deck that is truly mine?
Send your own artwork and print it under your brand, from 12 decks. You must own or have a licence for the artwork.
- Where are the resale terms?
Ask for the order terms on /pages/b2b-terms, or put the question in the quote form.
- Can I use Rider-Waite in my listing title?
No. The tradition may be named in descriptive text, but not in a product title or as the name of a deck.
